What is relevant?

Image
The world we live in today is a complex world. It has always been complex and will always remain complex, but nevertheless, it has always been, and will always be an important world to us.  Life can therefore be seen as a complicated process of aligning and attuning ourselves to that world, and to the source that made us.  The complexity and intricacies of this world, pushes man to always be seeking for something, but he may not always know what exactly it is that he seeks. As his journey in life continues, and he seeks further, he comes to a realization that what he seeks is a ‘ balance’ i.e. a harmony of relationships between all that he comes in contact with and within himself. The question of what is relevant therefore refers to those things that will enhance man’s Mental and Spiritual well-being. Weeds of the Mind!

He is also wise enough not to use herbicides or weed killers, because he knows that the effects of the weed killer are temporary, and as soon as the effects wear off, the weeds will grow again. His wisdom also allows him to know that poisonous substances from the weed killer will affect some flowers and eventually affect the overall beauty of the garden. This wise farmer knows that there are simply no shortcuts to beauty or succe...

The message set forth in this pamphlet states that our thoughts are useful tools which when used and and directed properly, can change our lives for greater fulfillment and happiness. As I grew older, I came to realize that, there are many who are aware of the importance of thought, but still neglect to adopt the discipline and control to steer their thoughts towards achieving greater and more fulfilling lives. The great power inherent in our thoughts is a phenomenon that has been known and accepted throughout the ages. 'Gautama' the Buddha stated that "All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become". Later, the Roman Emperor and great philosopher Marcus Aurelius stated "Your disposition will be suitable to that which you most frequently think on, for the soul is, as it were, tinged with the color and complexion of i...
