Weeds of the Mind!
The human mind can symbolically be compared to a fertile and well cultivated garden, capable of producing amazing beauty. It is also possible for this same garden to produce elements of ugliness in the form of weeds, that creep up to smother and choke out the beauty. These weeds are stubborn and persistent. An experienced and wise gardener, knows full well, that cleaning out these weeds once, will NOT eliminate them forever. They will definitely grow again.
To keep the symbolic garden beautiful and enchanting, he must clear the weeds again and again. He is also wise enough not to use herbicides or weed killers, because he knows that the effects of the weed killer are temporary, and as soon as the effects wear off, the weeds will grow again. His wisdom also allows him to know that poisonous substances from the weed killer will affect some flowers and eventually affect the overall beauty of the garden.
This wise farmer knows that there are simply no shortcuts to beauty or success. he knows full well, that for the garden to achieve that breathtaking beauty, he must bend his back, strain his muscles, and sweat from exertions in the sun, and after getting the job done, he wipes his sweating brow, and looks with pride at the beauty he has been able to preserve. He is overcome with a triumphant sense of victory in knowing that once again, the greatest battle against ugliness has been won
